3 Tips for Staging Your Home

Getting ready to sell your home? Successful staging will boost your home’s appeal and your chances of selling. In this short post, we’ll discuss some tips for staging your home, such as: outdoor retreats, pops of color and mismatches.

Outdoor Retreats

This is something you always hear, and with very good reason. Many people thinking of touring your home will do a quick drive-by first, often deciding on the spot if it is even worth a look inside. Make sure your home is ready to lure in onlookers with these tips:

  • Power wash siding and walkways
  • Hang easy-to-read house numbers
  • Plant blooming flowers and fresh greenery
  • Mow lawn, and reseed or add fresh sod as needed
  • Wash front windows
  • Repaint or stain the porch floor as needed Source: FoxNews

Pops of Color

Brush on a fresh coat of warm, neutral-color paint in each room. Ask your real estate agent for help choosing the right shade. Then accessorize. Adding a vibrant afghan, throw, or accent pillows for the couch will jazz up a muted living room, as will a healthy plant or a bright vase on your mantle. High-wattage bulbs in your light fixtures will also brighten up rooms and basements. Source: BuyAndSell.HouseLogic.com

Mismatches

To break up the monotony of a space, stagers are mismatching furnishings, fabrics, and colors. For example, non-matching chairs around a dining table can add more visual interest to an area, Slinkey says. End chairs may be swapped out for chairs in a contrasting style. Kitchen islands in a different color than the wall cabinets also are gaining popularity and can turn this kitchen feature into a focal point. Dawn Marie Templeton, broker-owner of Templeton Real Estate Group in Boise, Idaho, had the kitchen island in one of her properties painted gray to compliment the white cabinets. The gray island “grounds and warms the space,” Templeton says. “If it were white, in this particular home, it might look too stark, too white, too bland, and too boring.” Source: RealtorMag.Realtor.org

What Our Clients Say

“I think Gary’s a very professional Realtor, that’s not just coming from me as a Mentor, it’s because I’ve worked with him, he truly cares about the client… You want to work with someone who is caring.”

I know so much realtor, but he’s the best one. Once I talk to him about the investment, he’s thinking, “Okay, this is the only person I trust.” Usually I just refuse to have any connecting with a salesperson or a realtor, but he’s only the exceptional one. Make friends with him.”

“It’s because of [Gary’s] knowledge, his insight, the way that he analyzes and he’s able to put real estate in perspective… he really is genuinely interested in me and what i’m looking for, that blew my mind… because he knows the market and he specializes in the luxury market he’s really able to provide that insight”

“The word professional sums up Gary, extremely knowledgeable… extremely honest, he didn’t sugar coat things… Gary will get it done, he’s done it for me, he’s done it for lots of people I know.”
